Context

From web design to Product Design: a journey at the heart of digital products

At Innlog, a company specialising in digital solutions for logistics, I first worked as a web designer and front-end integrator, before moving into UX/UI Design within a team of developers. This path led me to work on e-commerce sites as well as SaaS business software.

Approach

Designing interfaces suited to users’ needs and constraints, while ensuring visual and functional consistency across products and making them easier for technical teams to build.

Client examples

  • Elec44
  • Royer Cosmétique
  • Grain de Sail
  • Le Comptoir des Poivres
  • Séminaire Collection
  • IBU Distribution
  • Boutique Keva
  • Légion Distribution
  • Conserverie des Saveurs
  • Breizh Odyssée
  • Eaulding
  • Diva Domaines & Distilleries

Tasks & achievements

  1. Product Discovery

Clarifying users’ needs, expectations and constraints to frame the problem to solve.

  2. UX Design

Analysing journeys and interfaces, running heuristic audits and competitive analyses.

  3. UI Design & Design System

Designing UI kits from brand guidelines, then creating and maintaining the Innlog Design System.

  4. Prototyping

Designing desktop and mobile prototypes for showcase sites, e-commerce sites and SaaS business software.

  5. Front-end integration

Turning interfaces into HTML/CSS, notably on PrestaShop and WordPress.

Challenges

A cross-cutting approach to digital products: from understanding the need to designing the interface, all the way to its integration. Working directly with developers helped me build a design practice attentive to usage, interface consistency and technical constraints alike.

The key takeaway
